Water Police

I got this email from my local water and power company in Los Angeles (LADWP). Here's an excerpt:

Don’t Waste Another Drop
All residential and commercial LADWP customers are limited to two-days-a-week outdoor watering.

Our Water Conservation teams are patrolling neighborhoods throughout the City helping residents stay compliant with the current watering ordinance. These teams also respond to reports of water-waste, providing information, education and possibly even fines to customers found to be in ongoing violation of the ordinance.
The first notice is a written warning. Subsequent violations can result in fines ranging from $200 to $1,200.

The Water Police. By a city government agency.  The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is the largest municipal utility in the United States, serving four million residents and businesses. The Government, spying on our outdoor use of water, water we pay for.  And use on our own private property.

The futuristic science fiction book, "1984" is now becoming science fact, and a reality.
